Angelica Rivera (She/Ella) is an Afro-Dominican and bilingual Licensed Master
Social Worker residing in and practicing in New York. Driven by a profound
commitment to empowerment and equity, her work is characterized by an anti-
oppressive, humanity-centered, and trauma-informed approach. Angelica is deeply
dedicated to serving BIPOC, LGBTQ, immigrants, and survivors, striving to
dismantle systemic barriers and build inclusive communities. She has over seven
years of diverse experience as a case manager, program manager, college
counselor, career counselor, school-based clinician, school social worker, and
private practice therapist.
During the day, she serves as a devoted school social worker at an alternative high
school, providing comprehensive support to immigrant, refugee, and English
language learners on their journey to obtain their General Education Diplomas.
During the evening, she seamlessly transitions into the role of a compassionate
therapist at a private practice, offering teletherapy to patients navigating a wide
range of stressors, conditions, feelings, and thoughts. Angelica earned a Bachelor
of Arts in English Literature and Composition from the State University of New
York at Binghamton in 2017 and a Master of Social Work from the New York
University Silver School of Social Work in 2023.
